Form meets content, where everything old is new again, at Loie Fuller’s bistro. The dining room walls are muraled with Art
Nouveau lovelies, surrounded by freeform mirrors and swirls of carved wood. Designer Kyla Coburn had free rein to match
the delicious country French and Cajun cuisine of chef Eric Wolf.

The talented Kyla Coburn has done a very impressive job with the design in The Avery, J.R.'s new spot in what used to be
the Decatur Lounge. It's darker and loungy (the ambience is similar to other joints by Mike Sears, who, I'm told, is involved
in the project), in contrast to the glorified melting pot/happily scruffy neighborhood bar of the Decatur. The bar itself has
been relocated to the other side of the room, and Kyla's original artwork, particularly two babes set against the Providence
skyline, is amazing.

Broadway Bistro has a prime corner location with large windows looking onto the historic street in its name, as well as
onto a side street. Therefore, you might expect a light-filled interior, at least during the season when it’s not dark by
dinnertime. But a late-night spot thrives on setting a low-light mood, even a secretive air. Local designer Kyla Coburn’s
combination of tomato-red walls, red lights, black wainscoting, black woodwork, and black ceilings definitely contributes to
that vibe.

Wow - what a beautiful restaurant. Even if you're not hungry, it's worth going for a drink to admire thewoodwork and
beautiful murals! Also, it's neat that they have an $18 half bottle of port, which I think makes it a great place to go for
dessert with a few friends. (When I went they had 3 dessert choices and a cheese plate). I don't think I've ever seen such an
amazing interior. I even had to stare at the ceiling for a few minutes.

Loïe Fuller's best asset is their decor. Finished in the art nouveau style, this is one of the prettiest interiors I've ever seen in a
restaurant: murals, tiles, lighting fixtures, etc, are all carefully chosen.
